CrossRoads Country Buffet & Seafood Restaurant
About This Spot
CrossRoads Country Buffet & Seafood Restaurant offers a welcoming embrace the moment you arrive, tucked just off Neeses Highway in Orangeburg. This is the kind of place where the pace slows down a bit, inviting you to settle in and savor the comforting rhythms of a country buffet. The atmosphere feels genuine and homey, filled with the warmth of familiar flavors and friendly faces who know that good food goes hand in hand with good company.
Inside, the layout respects the easy flow of conversation and the casual coming together of folks rounding up plates piled high with all the classic Southern staples. It’s not just about filling up; it’s about reconnecting with familiar tastes that evoke memories and simple pleasures. Whether drawn by the bustling, savory aroma of fried chicken crisped to perfection or the hearty comfort of macaroni and cheese, each bite is a quiet nod to tradition. And if there’s a moment to linger, the sweet finish at the dessert bar offers just the right measure of indulgence—peach cobbler and banana pudding among them—each one thoughtfully crafted to close the meal on a cozy note.
The rhythm here moves at an unhurried, easygoing pace, where families and friends gather without fuss, and the everyday hum of shared stories blends with the comforting sounds of a busy kitchen. The staff’s warmth echoes through the space, adding to the relaxed vibe that makes CrossRoads feel less like a stop on the map and more like a familiar turn on a well-loved route.

We've eaten here a few times. It's fairly straight forward. The food was good, selection varied and for the time we ate, plentiful and hot. The two items that went fast was the fried chicken and the Mac n Cheese. Not necessarily the establishments fault but other guest especially the kids pile their plates high with the fried food, you can say something but they disregard you OR dump it all back in which case the buffet manager is obliged to take the pan away (whether or not they actually change out the pan...) but I digress. The food is common southern fare, even froglegs now and again. It had the "home cookin" flare. The dessert as most nights is some kind of cobbler, I had peach it isn't bad. What was missing each time was a salad bar, not tater salad or Mac salad but fresh leafy greens with cucumbers, radishes, onions, tomatoes... and toppings, my wife wen enjoys the lighter fare! We're due for another visit soon.

And to think I started not to stop because I thought Google took me to the wrong spot. I drove up in the parking lot and asked the nice lady if this was a restaurant, and she said yes. I am so glad I did not miss out. The atmosphere is great, the food is great, the people are great. I most definitely will return. I was excited to see that you had liver and onions. That's my favorite food. Thank you.

Very nice staff, good selection of food to choose from, and clean environment. The tables and seating are spaced out well. I tried the whiting, flounder, and shrimp which were decent. My sides were macaroni which was pretty good, cabbage and rice, this was ok, yams and fried okra. My favorite was the peach cobbler which had the perfect amount of spices added. I would try this establishment again. There was a pretty good variety if you have the taste for soul food. Also very affordable and under $20.

Fried chicken , fried pork chops , fried anything is delicious. I've noticed the pass couple weeks that the quality in fried foods has gone up drastically. Must be a new worker in the kitchen
